ABOUT THE ARTIST

MARIA SOL MANCINI

María Sol Mancini was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and raised in Sunrise, Florida. She studied at the Dillard Center for the Arts and is currently an Illustration major at Watkins College of Art, Design, and Film.

Her idea behind this piece was to create something fun and down to earth. She went with a more hand-drawn style to reflect the more heartfelt part of original songwriting, not yet touched by big names (think of the difference between a homemade meal and a restaurant), and to show the wildness that comes with “cooking up” song ideas (in a tin pan, of course).

All artwork entries were submitted by students at Watkins College of Art, Design & Film in Nashville, TN.
