Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame member Tom Douglas will deliver his one-man show Love, Tom, which takes audience members on a journey through Douglas’s life as a songwriter and features some of the songs he’s written. A film version of this story of perseverance debuted earlier this year on Paramount+, and the accompany soundtrack, released by Monument Records, features Chris Janson, Miranda Lambert, Tim McGraw, Lady A, and Collin Raye. Douglas took a winding path to Nashville but has made a significant impact on Music City since his first hit song, “Little Rock” by Collin Raye, was released in 1994. Douglas writes with depth and compassion, as showcased in hits such as “I Run to You” (Lady A); the Country Music Association’s 2010 Song of the Year, “The House That Built Me” (Miranda Lambert); and “Dear Hate” (Maren Morris featuring Vince Gill). His other songs include Chris Janson’s “Drunk Girl,” Martina McBride’s “Love’s the Only House,” and Tim McGraw’s “Grown Men Don’t Cry,” “My Little Girl,” and “Meanwhile Back at Mama’s.” Presented in partnership with the Tin Pan South Songwriters Festival. Ford Theater. Limited seating. Included with Museum admission. Free to Museum members and Tin Pan South Songwriters Festival Fast Access Pass holders. Program ticket required. Limited tickets available for advanced reservations, remaining tickets will be available on the day of the program.
